We are delighted to share exciting news from the forefront of sustainable healthcare. Terraloam has formed a groundbreaking partnership with Catawba Valley Health System, marking a significant step forward in our commitment to environmental stewardship and innovative healthcare solutions.
Each year, hospitals generate substantial amounts of waste, much of which contributes to environmental pollution. Recognizing this challenge, Terraloam and Catawba Valley Health System have joined forces to implement a transformative solution. Through this partnership, we are set to reduce the waste produced by Catawba Valley Health System’s facilities by nearly 15,000 pounds this year.
But our efforts don’t stop at waste reduction. The discarded gowns collected from the hospital will undergo a remarkable transformation. Using our proprietary composting technology, these gowns will be converted into nutrient-rich soil. This innovative process not only diverts waste from landfills but also repurposes it into a valuable resource that supports agricultural initiatives.
The nutrient-rich soil produced from our recycled gowns will be used to rejuvenate over 1.5 acres of farmland. This initiative will help restore soil health, enhance biodiversity, and increase the land’s agricultural productivity. It’s a win-win for the environment and the community, providing a sustainable model for others in the healthcare industry to follow.
At Terraloam, we are proud to lead the way in sustainable healthcare practices. Our partnership with Catawba Valley Health System is just one example of how innovative solutions can create significant environmental and social benefits. We are excited about the future and the potential for further positive impacts as we continue to expand our initiatives.
We invite you to join us in celebrating this milestone and to stay tuned for more updates as we continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible in sustainable healthcare.
